If you don’t like garlic, this may not sound very pleasant, but drinking garlic soup is perhaps one of the most effective ways to overcome a cold. Garlic has been used for years because of its great medicinal power and health benefits.
Garlic helps to clear up the respiratory passages and the soup also helps to flush cold-producing toxins from the body. Here is a garlic soup recipe to tackle those cold symptoms.
- Boil three to four cloves of chopped garlic in just one cup of water.
- Drink once daily until the cold subsides.
- Drink the mixture once a week thereafter to prevent the symptoms from resurfacing.
If you don’t like this idea, try eating a clove of garlic chopped on a piece of toast. It really does taste delicious! My husband chews on a clove regularly to fight off colds…he never gets a cold…and luckily he works at home! 🙂

Or if you need a natural medicine, you can use a homeopathic medicine, especially if you don’t like the sound of these home remedies!
So if you are experiencing the symptoms of a cold, include plenty of healthy, nutritious foods and drink plenty of fluids…lots of freshly squeezed juices full of vitamin C.
