Elimination diets work by a trial and error process. Basically, you identify a certain ingredient or particular food that you feel may be worsening or contributing to the ADHD symptoms.
Next, you eliminate that food or any food containing the offending ingredient from your diet. Sometimes, keeping a food ‘ADHD diet’ journal during this process can help you track the details better. If the symptoms lessen, then you know to keep avoiding that certain substance.
Over a period of time your symptoms should be less. Quite often allergies and foods can contribute to many health problems, even unforeseen ones. Eliminating foods from your diet that are exacerbating ADHD symptoms may also be helping your health in many other areas too!
