While studies show that natural vitamins and/or natural supplements can help us to fight or improve certain conditions and improve our overall long term health.
Some people have even stated that it is just a placebo effect. Others swear that taking them improves their health incredibly.
Are Vitamins and Supplements Medications?
When you take vitamins and supplements, you need to know that you can overdose on them and you should never take more than the recommended amounts. It’s also true and essential for you to know that you should treat these products in the same way that you would treat any other type of medication and respect that they could become toxic when not used properly. For this reason, you should tell your doctor about all of the supplements which you are taking all the time.
Natural Vitamins and Supplements are classed as natural medicines and many are homeopathic remedies. Even so, it is wise to discuss with your doctor what ‘medicines’ you are taking.

Anyone who ever tells you that taking the right vitamins and supplements will cure a disease is not being totally honest with you. Research shows that taking the right types of vitamins and making sure to get all the right nutrients can be helpful in preventing you from getting certain diseases, but it will not take a disease away. If you have a circumstance that negates that statement, I would love to hear it! There are many natural cures today, so I am not saying that there couldn’t be.
Another thing you should know is that in many cases, using the right combination of vitamins and supplements in conjunction with other treatments can help to reduce the effects of the disease. They can also keep your immune system strong so you can more effectively fight illnesses which you might encounter.
Can They ‘Fix’ An Unhealthy Diet?
Many people also mistakenly believe that even if they don’t eat healthy, they can take their vitamins and be okay, but this just isn’t true. You should always choose to get as much healthy nutrition as possible from the way you eat. This includes the things you choose to drink as well. When you have your healthy diet down, then you can supplement your nutritional needs if you feel you are lacking in something.
Also, just because the label of your vitamins and supplements says that something is true, don’t believe it. The companies who make these products are going to put things on the labels to convince you to purchase their product and while the marketing technique might not be illegal, you should still do your own research before you begin taking any vitamins or supplements.
